Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to grease a cake pan?

A baking spray with flour coats every corner in seconds and gives the cleanest release.

Is baking spray the same as cooking spray?

No; baking spray has flour mixed in, so batter grips the pan less and releases more cleanly.

How do I make homemade cake release?

Mix equal parts flour, oil and shortening and brush it on; it works like store-bought pan release.
