Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a cake scraper and a bench scraper?
A cake scraper is tall and smooths frosting on the sides of a cake; a bench scraper is a short, sturdy blade for dough that also works on short cakes.
Should I buy a steel or plastic cake scraper?
Steel stays straight and gives sharper edges; plastic is cheaper and fine for occasional cakes.
Do I need both a cake scraper and a bench scraper?
If you bake bread and cakes, yes; if you only frost cakes, a tall cake scraper is enough.
Final Verdict
PME’s tall stainless scraper is the best cake scraper. Add the Amazon Basics bench scraper for dough.
